Fischer Chess Memorabilia Auction Oct 14 in New York

On Sunday, October 14, 2012, an auction of one part of chess historic collection owned by Nenad Nesh Stankovic will be held in Philip Weiss Auctions, New York. Offered objects take us 20 years back in time of “Rematch of XX century” - remake of Iceland chess match from the period of Cold War. The objects on the auction are unique part of history and expression of eternal value. For more details, please visit www.weissauctions.com (Sport auction lot # 2200A, 2200B, 2200C and 2200D).

This auction is part of the promotion of the book 'The great secret of Bobby Fischer' which will be published this Fall. The auction includes absolute rarities and exclusive items. During "the return match of the 20th century ", Bobby Fischer and Boris Spassky signed 10 chess sets which have official logo of this great event. Those chess sets were a personal gift from Bobby Fischer to me. Stankovic says, "I gave three of them to my close friends, one I will keep in my possession, and one from the remaining six chess sets of great historical and chess importance ( logically there will be no new chess sets) will be on auction."

Fischer letter to Nesh
He also says, "Also you can see maybe the only officially approved signature of Bobby Fischer. On the page of auction, you can take a look at the letter Fischer wrote to me when we first parted our ways in August, 1993 in Budapest. Also, three official posters of the match with Fischer`s signature in the middle will be put on auction."  Read the special Chess Magazine Black & White page for more details on the sensational new book and the auction.
