London Chess Classic 2012 Invitations Sent to Anand, Carlsen, Kramnik, Nakamura, Aronian, Polgar, Adams, McShane & Jones

London Chess Classic chief executive has announced that the invitations have been sent out for the fourth edition of this fantastic chess event. Chief executive Malcolm Pein writes on the official website: "We can confirm that again we will have the popular venue of Olympia in Kensington to showcase the best-in-chess at 4th London Chess Classic."

Invitations have been sent to World Champion Vishy Anand, World No.1 Magnus Carlsen, defending champion Vladimir Kramnik, Levon Aronian, Hikaru Nakamura, Judit Polgar, Michael Adams, Luke McShane and Gawain Jones. The acceptance of the players will be announced in the course of the next few days.

The 4th London Chess Classic will be held from December 1-12 as a nine player (all-play-all) event. The tournament is expected to be least as strong as the 3rd London Chess Classic and will run along broadly similar lines to the previous edition. There will be a host of side events for chess players and lovers of all playing strengths. There would be games on weekends as well.

Chess in Schools and Communities will organise free classes and chess tournaments for schools as well as courses for potential chess teachers. The opening ceremony will take place on November 30 and the fund raising dinner for CSC will be on December 10.

Folks, this is the London year. Check out the Olympics and then the London Chess Classic for sure!
